INMETCO Remelt Alloy

INMETCO reclaims nickel, chromium, iron and molybdenum from wastes to produce a remelt alloy that is used in the production of stainless steel. The INMETCO remelt alloy may consist primarily of Ni-Cr-Fe or Ni-Cr-Fe-Mo depending on the feed source.

INMETCO Slag

A calcium, alumina, silica and magnesia containing slag is produced in INMETCO's electric arc furnace. This slag, is a non-hazardous co-product, used as road base and construction aggregate.

INMETCO Cadmium (Cadmet)

Cadmium, primarily from nickel-cadmium batteries, is reclaimed in INMETCO's Cadmium Recovery Plant. In the cadmium recovery furnaces cadmium is reduced using carbon, vaporized and condensed, producing a minimum purity of 99.95% cadmium metal. This reclaimed cadmium can be used in the production of new nickel-cadmium batteries, in the manufacture of corrosion-resistant coatings and to enhance pigmentation.
